Cornwall Wedding Photographer

Unposed, Natural, Relaxed Professional Photography

Hey! I'm Steven. I am a Cornwall Wedding Photographer. I have been professionally photographing weddings since 2004 and have captured hundreds of happy couples. Before I was a wedding photographer I was a professional music photographer working worldwide with big acts. My approach to wedding photography is simple: to create a whole story that documents your most important day in the most natural and beautiful way possible. Working on all that the pictures are captured for forever. I will always look to capture your special day naturally and organically, documenting the fun, laughter and happiness as and how it occurs. I cover set up, love, photographs of your big day directing you or your guests. I follow the narrative of the day and capture all of the magical moments.

A Little Bit About Me

I love being a wedding photographer in Cornwall. I've been professionally photographing weddings since 2004 and have captured hundreds of happy couples. Before I was a wedding photographer I was a professional music photographer working worldwide with big acts. Photography has always been a huge passion of mine ever since I was a child.

I grew up in Cornwall but have enjoyed travelling the world as much as possible since my early 20s. Not only do I love photographing weddings in Cornwall, I've never been lucky enough to capture couples special days all over the UK, Europe and the rest of the world.

Essential Wedding Day Timeline Examples and Planning Tips

Are you planning your wedding and struggling to know how much time you need for all of the various activities? Between being a wedding photographer and getting married myself, I have learned quite a bit about wedding timelines: what works, what doesn’t, and how you can make the most of enjoying your day without feeling like a chicken running around with your head cut off. I’ve collected different wedding day timeline examples from my years in the wedding photography industry and included some little tips and tricks for each piece of your day.

Key Planning Considerations

The biggest thing that kills intimacy and joy is being rushed. Plan extra room everywhere in your timeline so you’re not left feeling rushed, so you can breathe, and so you actually have the time to pause and enjoy your wedding day. Here are parts of the wedding timeline that always need some extra time intentionally planned into them:

  • Getting ready for the gals: Hair and makeup always takes a little longer than people budget for. This is also such a sweet time to spend with your girls in excited anticipation of what’s to come.
  • Travel to the venue: Driving to the venue, potential traffic, or forgetting something important at the getting-ready location are all things that make everything run behind.
  • Family & bridal party portraits: While we try to make these parts of the wedding day as efficient as possible, they are still important and deserve everyone’s full attention. Sometimes mothers want more combinations of people then you originally indicated, or one of the kids isn’t cooperating.

The First Look Timeline

I absolutely LOVE first looks. I think it creates a special moment for the two of you in the middle of your wedding day chaos that might not be there otherwise. It also gives you a chance to share feelings, and even do a private vow reading before the ceremony. Furthermore, it can make your wedding day timeline more efficient, especially if your ceremony is not until later in the afternoon or evening. Here is a breakdown of how this version of a wedding day timeline unfolds:

  • ~12:00 – Start getting ready. You and your makeup and hair artist may need more time, especially if they are also doing your bridesmaids’ hair and makeup.
  • 2:00 – Photographer arrives. Your photographer can start taking your flat lay and detail pictures and capture the tail-end of getting ready photos. TIP: Add in something fun, like a toast to make the getting ready time with your friends even more special.
  • 3:00 – First Look. The photographer will scout out a spot around your venue that will be perfect. They will coordinate how the bride will arrive, give instructions, and let the moment play out.
  • 3:15 – Couple photos and bridal party photos. I recommend taking a few couple photos before your bridal party photos because you will still be on a high from your first look.
  • 4:30 – Ceremony. Wedding ceremonies can be anywhere from 15-30+ minutes long, depending on if it is also a religious ceremony or if you have written your own vows.
  • 5:30-6:30 – Pictures and Cocktail hour. This time is used for family pictures and a few more couple pictures. Cocktail hour is mainly for your guests to relax and chat while you are away at pictures.
  • 6:30 – Grand Entrance and Dinner. Enter back into the festivities with a grand entrance! Plan your first dance before you sit down to eat.
  • 7:30 – Reception. Greet your guests, dance, cut the cake, and enjoy the party!

Venue and Logistics Tips

When looking at timeline examples, it is best to recall how many hours are included in your specific package. Time begins when the Bridal party, first vendor or guest arrives; therefore make sure all are aware of their setup time and arrival time. We greatly discourage forgoing ceremony rehearsals. The ceremony rehearsal is extremely valuable for you and your bridal party to ensure the entire day of your wedding will be less stressful and better organized.

Engagement and Couple Photographer Cornwall

As well as being a wedding photographer in Cornwall I am also a professional couple and engagement photoshoots. I love photographing love! In which I do love having photographed couples for the last 15 years in Cornwall and the rest of the world.

Whether you are a new couple or have been married for 50+ years, a professional couple is a wonderful gift. I have photographed couples of many stages of their relationship.

I always make sure the photoshoots are relaxed, unposed, and fun. Not many people enjoy having their photos taken, including me, which is why I make sure that you are both relaxed and happy during the shoot.

Engagement photoshoots are a great way to get used to the camera before your wedding and are offered as part of my wedding photography.
