Cornwall Wedding Photographer

Unposed, Natural, Relaxed Professional Photography

Hey! I'm Steven. I am a Cornwall Wedding Photographer. I have been professionally photographing weddings since 2004 and have captured hundreds of happy couples. Before I was a wedding photographer I was a professional music photographer working worldwide with big acts. My approach to wedding photography is simple: to create a whole story that documents your most important day in the most natural and beautiful way possible. Working on all that the pictures are captured for forever. I will always look to capture your special day naturally and organically, documenting the fun, laughter and happiness as and how it occurs. I cover set up, love, photographs of your big day directing you or your guests. I follow the narrative of the day and capture all of the magical moments.

A Little Bit About Me

I love being a wedding photographer in Cornwall. I've been professionally photographing weddings since 2004 and have captured hundreds of happy couples. Before I was a wedding photographer I was a professional music photographer working worldwide with big acts. Photography has always been a huge passion of mine ever since I was a child.

I grew up in Cornwall but have enjoyed travelling the world as much as possible since my early 20s. Not only do I love photographing weddings in Cornwall, I've never been lucky enough to capture couples special days all over the UK, Europe and the rest of the world.

Creative Night Wedding and Milky Way Photography

Nighttime wedding photos are some of the most beautiful, creative, unique, and memorable images you’ll get all night. Taking 30 extra minutes for nighttime wedding photos means a whole new set of unique, creative shots to love forever.

Why Invest in Nighttime Wedding Photos?

You’ve had a long day of celebrating with family and friends, or a long day of driving, hiking, and eloping with your significant other. Now that it’s nighttime, should the photos end? NO! I’m a creative wedding & elopement photographer, and some of my clients’ favorite images from all around the world are the shots I do not just at sunset or golden hour, but night. I plan a few fun photos based on what my clients love to do, and then figure out how to grab some magical images to cap off their celebration.

The Process of Capturing Innovative Night Wedding Photos

Due to the nature of night wedding photos being dark, and external light being the only source, it’s necessary to do a pose and hold still. While I’m more of a candid wedding photographer than posed, this is one time of night when it’s definitely necessary to stand perfectly still. It takes standing still and trial and error for us to get the perfect shot.

Essential Tools and Requirements

There are a few tools that make my nighttime shots extra awesome, and a tripod, a spotter, and a couple willing to hold still is what’s typically needed:

  • A couple who WANTS them: I will never force my couples to do any photos they don’t want!
  • A few layers: Nighttime can be cold almost everywhere, even in summer, so having a shawl is particularly smart.
  • A tripod and tools: I almost always have my kit and lighting so that I can run around and set up these shots. It’s extra handy for me to have my second photographer or assistant nearby.
  • Patience: They take far more practice than it may appear, even if it only takes 10 minutes out of your wedding!

Creative Themes and Milky Way Shots

As a creative wedding photographer, I always have a special toolkit handy, which includes everything from light attachments to filters and matches. Sometimes we spin fire. Sometimes I run around with my light saber. Occasionally I use smoke bombs. And sometimes I use Christmas lights! I love to give my clients the most wacky, fun, amazing experience possible so that they can have photos that are different from the usual.

Nighttime wedding photos don’t always need tools or props. Capturing Milky Way wedding photos is perfect for adventurous couples who elope, and I adore taking them. For your wedding shots with the Milky Way, it’s best to be away from light, near the equator, and around summertime. This gives you the best chance of having those stars truly pop.

Engagement and Couple Photographer Cornwall

As well as being a wedding photographer in Cornwall I am also a professional couple and engagement photoshoots. I love photographing love! In which I do love having photographed couples for the last 15 years in Cornwall and the rest of the world.

Whether you are a new couple or have been married for 50+ years, a professional couple is a wonderful gift. I have photographed couples of many stages of their relationship.

I always make sure the photoshoots are relaxed, unposed, and fun. Not many people enjoy having their photos taken, including me, which is why I make sure that you are both relaxed and happy during the shoot.

Engagement photoshoots are a great way to get used to the camera before your wedding and are offered as part of my wedding photography.
