Cornwall Wedding Photographer

Unposed, Natural, Relaxed Professional Photography

Hey! I'm Steven. I am a Cornwall Wedding Photographer. I have been professionally photographing weddings since 2004 and have captured hundreds of happy couples. Before I was a wedding photographer I was a professional music photographer working worldwide with big acts. My approach to wedding photography is simple: to create a whole story that documents your most important day in the most natural and beautiful way possible. Working on all that the pictures are captured for forever. I will always look to capture your special day naturally and organically, documenting the fun, laughter and happiness as and how it occurs. I cover set up, love, photographs of your big day directing you or your guests. I follow the narrative of the day and capture all of the magical moments.

Long Island Wedding Photography Cost: Your Ultimate Guide

Are you getting married on Long Island, NY, and curious about wedding photography costs? Planning your big day is exciting, but understanding the investment needed for quality photography is essential. Whether envisioning a lavish ceremony at one of the stunning vineyards or a beachfront celebration, Long Island offers a diverse range of beautiful settings. In this comprehensive guide, we'll walk you through what to expect when budgeting for wedding photography in Long Island.

Factors Affecting Wedding Photography Cost

When budgeting for wedding photography in Long Island, it's crucial to understand the factors that influence the overall cost. The experience and expertise of the photographer play a significant role in pricing. Photographers with a strong portfolio and extensive experience typically command higher fees due to the quality they bring to the table. Additionally, the length of coverage required for your wedding day will impact the cost.

Other key factors include:

  • Hours of coverage: Prep at home, church ceremony, portraits at a park or vineyard, then reception at the venue usually pushes 8–10 hours.
  • Style of photography: Different photographers specialize in various styles, such as traditional, photojournalistic, or artistic.
  • Venue logistics: North Fork vineyards, Gold Coast mansions, or hotels with strict load-ins affect time and staffing.
  • East End travel: Hamptons/Montauk can require added time or lodging on peak weekends.
  • Additional services: The use of a second photographer or engagement photo sessions can also contribute to the overall cost.

Average Wedding Photography Cost in Long Island, NY

In Long Island, NY, the average cost of wedding photography can vary based on several factors. On average, couples can expect to invest anywhere from $2,500 to $6,000 for professional wedding photography services in the Long Island area. This range accounts for varying levels of expertise, coverage duration, and the inclusion of additional services.

Here is a breakdown of typical pricing levels based on industry data:

  • Entry / Emerging ($2,000 – $3,000): Limited hours or simpler deliverables; good for smaller timelines.
  • Professional ($3,500 – $6,000): 8–10 hours with a solo photographer; most couples choose this level.
  • High / Luxury ($7,000 – $9,000+): Added coverage, second shooter, albums, and premium edit depth.

Do You Need a Second Photographer?

When deciding whether to add a second shooter to your package, consider your guest count and locations:

  • Under 110 guests: Solo coverage usually works for one or two close locations.
  • 110–180 guests: There is a strong case for a second shooter, especially with split prep, church, and venue locations.
  • 180+ guests: Two photographers are recommended for multi-level mansions or large ballrooms.

Additional Expenses to Consider

While the primary focus may be on the cost of hiring a wedding photographer, it's essential to consider additional expenses that may arise. These can include purchasing prints, albums, or digital files. Albums are usually an add-on, and many couples finalize album size and pages after the gallery is delivered. Understanding these factors will help you establish a realistic budget and communicate your expectations effectively with potential photographers.
