NYC Boudoir Photography | Bridal Boudoir
Boudoir photography has many different interpretations. For me, it means a chance to capture intimacy on a higher level. It can be hard to show this kind of vulnerability in public, but there is something special about quiet moments together like this. My favorite couples boudoir is not based on desire; it’s all about moments that show your most raw and real selves.
Fine Art Couples Boudoir
Doing a couples boudoir session requires a bit of courage. After all, you are showing yourself in a way that is usually reserved only for each other. The result can be very rewarding. I love doing bridal and couples boudoir in a place that’s meaningful. Usually, that means the couples home, but sometimes a beautiful studio can be the best option. In this case, we picked a white studio with lots of natural light.
An Empowering Bridal Experience
Boudoir sessions are such an empowering experience, and I couldn’t be more excited to share them with you! The point of the shoots is to celebrate you at a really exciting time of your life. When you’re old and have a few more wrinkles, you can look back at the photos and think ‘oh wow, I really did look amazing’. My brides rave about how amazing they feel after their sessions and how much fun the experience was.
It also happens to be the perfect gift to give your brand new spouse on your honeymoon or anniversary! It’s a personal, meaningful gift that goes far beyond most traditional presents. You might choose a luxury gift box of mounted prints, or a leather-bound photo album so your fiancé has something physical to open on the wedding morning.
Planning Your Session
Timing and Location
If the timeline allows, your boudoir session can be scheduled for the morning of your wedding. If your timeline is tight on the wedding day, I also have the option of the day of your rehearsal dinner. I’d recommend booking in the shoot no later than 3 months before the wedding date to allow time for photo editing and print production times.
Location will be top of mind when planning your session, especially on the morning of your wedding. If your getting ready room allows, it could be the perfect place. Just be sure to consider the lighting in the room and be sure to keep things tidy and uncluttered. It might even be the perfect nudge to book the extra luxurious room you’ve been eyeing for the weekend.
Hair and Makeup
I recommend booking your hair and makeup a little earlier in the day if you plan to schedule on the day of your wedding. Why not book in your hair and make-up trials for the same day and make the most of it? This will allow for a low-key, relaxing morning and ensure you feel your best before jumping in front of the camera.
Session Details and Investment
Your shoot will last 45 minutes at a location of your choice and can include as many or few outfit changes as you like within that time. I’ll be there to guide you through every pose, and to help find your preferred angles if there’s anything you feel conscious of.

Creative Inspiration
Be sure to make it feel the most “you” by drawing your own inspiration for the session. In this session, the bride wore a gorgeous velvet kimono robe. Using your wedding veil for boudoir is also a favorite of mine. So much of what makes a boudoir session special is trust and communication. Be sure to listen to your gut and communicate with me about the ideal session for you.
