Elopement Wedding Photography and Trends in Bath
2024 could not have gotten off to a better start than L&T’s elopement wedding in Bath. From their first enquiry I knew it was going to be a good one. L sent me some inspiration for the photos and it was great to try something a little different. Over the years I’ve done quite a few elopement weddings in Bath.
The Evolution of Editorial Styles
I love the way wedding photography evolves other time and new trends come in. So these elopement photos are a little more editorial than I have done in the past but I just love them. For winter in the UK we could not have had a nicer day and it exceeded my expectations! After the elopement wedding ceremony where Tony’s parents were witnesses, we took a few photos around the centre of Bath and headed back to the hotel for a hot drink and a warm up in the bar.
Exploring Iconic Wedding Venues
Because I’m a regular at the Roman Baths and the Guildhall I know some great spots around the centre for nice photos. Bath does make for a nice backdrop so you don’t have to walk far but some areas are busier than others. It was also amazing to go back and be Maya & MJ’s Larmer Tree wedding photographer. I love this venue and their Larmer Tree Gardens wedding was absolutely incredible, featuring Chinese wedding traditions and friends from all over the globe.
Other notable locations include Wick Bottom Barn, which is a beauty, and Brympton House, where Jessica & George hosted a massive celebration with 8 bridesmaids and 14 ushers. In a different setting, Maggie and Kevin loved the classic, romantic vibe of the Four Seasons bar where they enjoyed an intimate toast as husband and wife.
Comparison of Featured Wedding Events

Photographing the Emotion of the Day
Whatever the view, the relatives, friends, bride and groom will be showing emotion and pictures showing this will be the best of the day. Pictures of people looking bored at a wedding won’t go down well. It is important to capture nontraditional wedding photographs that capture chemistry with a fashion-forward vibe. Everyone is welcome. Regardless of race, gender, religion, or sexuality.
