Breathtaking Whitsand Bay Engagement Photo Shoot: December & Paulo
Cornwall is surrounded by the most beautiful coastline; it’s often hard to work out what area to explore next. Whitsand Bay could just be Cornwall’s hidden gem! One of the most beautiful golden sand beaches Cornwall has to offer, the beaches of Whitsand Bay offer over 3 miles of beach; now that’s a lot of beach. It goes from Rames Head all the way to Portwrinkle. However, make sure you check the tide times, as this isn’t always the case.
The Experience of December & Paulo’s Shoot
Walking down the path towards the beach was fantastic; you could almost let gravity roll you down; it wasn’t quite as easy on the way back up. This is a hard beach to get to though, down some steep paths. It’s not so much the getting down; it’s the getting back up again. Gorgeous golden hour had started to kick in as we made our way across the beach. There were so many beautiful moments on the beach that just happened, so naturally I just stood back with the camera and got a bit too shutter happy. It was just fantastic.
As we wondered and stopped at various places, we made our way to a perfect patch to get cosy and watch the sunset before parting ways. What a beautiful sunset engagement photo shoot at Whitsand Bay, Cornwall. Everything was just perfect! Is there a better way to celebrate your engagement than with beautiful memories?

Engagement Photo Shoot: The Ultimate Guide
The engagement photoshoot (or pre wedding shoot) has soared in popularity, and you can see why. From starting off as simple snaps and photo sessions to a full on masterpiece of beautiful art in a fantastic destination. Most couples love to mark this occasion by celebrating their love for each other at a location that shares an important bond. This is the session to celebrate the way you want to, so you can look back at the photos in 10 years time and think wow I love these memories we created!
Benefits of a Pre-Wedding Session
- Capturing a milestone: Engagement photoshoots allow you to capture a significant moment in your relationship. It’s a way to document and celebrate your engagement, creating lasting memories that you can cherish for years to come.
- Getting comfortable in front of the camera: Many couples are not used to being professionally photographed, so an engagement photoshoot serves as a practice session before the wedding day. It helps you and your partner become more comfortable in front of the camera.
- Building a relationship with your photographer: You can discuss your preferences, communicate your ideas, and understand their shooting style. This rapport can be invaluable as it ensures that your photographer understands your vision for the wedding day.
- Personalising your wedding experience: Whether it’s choosing a location that holds sentimental value or incorporating props that represent your shared interests, you can infuse your personalities into the shoot.
- Creating save-the-date cards and wedding invitations: Engagement photos are often used for save-the-date cards or wedding invitations. Professional and high-quality images give you the opportunity to design visually appealing cards that reflect your style.
- Celebrating your love story: It allows you to showcase your connection and love for each other through beautiful images that can be displayed at your wedding or in your home.
Trust and Comfort
For me the biggest reason to have an engagement shoot is that it builds trust between me and the couple. That trust is then evident for all to see on the wedding day. Your family and guests see that you are comfortable with my presence and so they also relax much quicker. All this leads to many more opportunities for relaxed, natural candids and other photo opportunities.
