Cornwall Wedding Photographer

Unposed, Natural, Relaxed Professional Photography

Hey! I'm Steven. I am a Cornwall Wedding Photographer. I have been professionally photographing weddings since 2004 and have captured hundreds of happy couples. Before I was a wedding photographer I was a professional music photographer working worldwide with big acts. My approach to wedding photography is simple: to create a whole story that documents your most important day in the most natural and beautiful way possible. Working on all that the pictures are captured for forever. I will always look to capture your special day naturally and organically, documenting the fun, laughter and happiness as and how it occurs. I cover set up, love, photographs of your big day directing you or your guests. I follow the narrative of the day and capture all of the magical moments.

A Little Bit About Me

I love being a wedding photographer in Cornwall. I've been professionally photographing weddings since 2004 and have captured hundreds of happy couples. Before I was a wedding photographer I was a professional music photographer working worldwide with big acts. Photography has always been a huge passion of mine ever since I was a child.

I grew up in Cornwall but have enjoyed travelling the world as much as possible since my early 20s. Not only do I love photographing weddings in Cornwall, I've never been lucky enough to capture couples special days all over the UK, Europe and the rest of the world.

First Dance Guide for Your Wedding – Tips for Magic Moments

Your first dance is the crown jewel of your wedding day—a poignant moment that celebrates the love you and your partner share. It’s more than just a dance; it’s a memory you’ll hold close forever. Whatever style you choose, planning the perfect first dance will help create a magical and unforgettable moment. Here’s how to make it uniquely yours!

Preparation and Practice

Preparation is key to ensuring your first dance goes smoothly. To start, you should consider the following steps:

  • Start by selecting a song that resonates with you as a couple.
  • Consider taking lessons with a professional dance instructor if your schedule and budget allow. Even a few sessions can help you improve your moves and ease any pre-dance jitters.
  • Practice on your own using online dance tutorials if you have no time for lessons. Dedicate a few evenings in your living room to rehearse.
  • Wear your wedding attire while practicing. Remember to put on your wedding shoes and attire—this will help you feel more comfortable dancing in them on the actual day.

Selecting the Perfect Song

The right song can set the scene for a moment your guests will never forget. Be it romantic, playful, or dramatic, the song should represent the connection you share. For added inspiration, explore wedding-first-dance playlists on platforms like Spotify. Opt for a song that resonates with others too—it’ll elevate the ambiance and captivate your guests.

Feature Recommendation
Track Length Keep the track on the shorter side—two to three minutes is ideal.
Editing If you fall in love with a longer piece, don’t hesitate to edit it down to focus on the most powerful parts.
Style Be it romantic, playful, or dramatic.

Ensuring Comfort and Confidence

Feeling comfortable during your first dance is one of the secret ingredients to making it shine. The right footwear goes a long way—if your wedding shoes are unwieldy, consider switching to flats or sneakers. You might need to adjust the hem of your dress slightly to accommodate them, but it’s worth it to feel at ease on the dance floor. Also, give yourself permission to laugh off minor mistakes. Weddings are about celebrating love, not achieving perfection, so enjoy every moment with your partner!

Adding Creative Touches

Make your first dance as unique as your love story. Creative touches will have your guests buzzing with excitement. You can try the following:

  1. Try adding a surprise element, like transitioning from a romantic melody into a fun, choreographed routine.
  2. Involve your bridal party for a group dance.
  3. Select a meaningful prop that ties into your story.

Adding your own twist makes the moment truly yours! By focusing on planning, song selection, comfort, and creativity, your first dance will become a cherished memory. This is your chance to showcase your love while surrounded by friends and family. Take a deep breath, soak in every second, and don’t forget to smile!

Engagement and Couple Photographer Cornwall

As well as being a wedding photographer in Cornwall I am also a professional couple and engagement photoshoots. I love photographing love! In which I do love having photographed couples for the last 15 years in Cornwall and the rest of the world.

Whether you are a new couple or have been married for 50+ years, a professional couple is a wonderful gift. I have photographed couples of many stages of their relationship.

I always make sure the photoshoots are relaxed, unposed, and fun. Not many people enjoy having their photos taken, including me, which is why I make sure that you are both relaxed and happy during the shoot.

Engagement photoshoots are a great way to get used to the camera before your wedding and are offered as part of my wedding photography.
