Full Wedding Day Photography Packages and Professional Timeline Tips
Joy Shots Photography takes photos that keep you deeply immersed in your wedding day, enhancing, not interrupting, the unfolding story. I’m Erika and I’ve photographed well over 200 weddings. I like photography, but what I love is relationships. I treasure getting to build a relationship with you that often lasts beyond the wedding day. My biggest priorities will always be couples photos and for the rest I mix a documentary style with posed photos for family and friend groups.
Our Approach to Your Big Day
Candid moments of you and your loved ones are a top priority and when things can’t be candid I’ll make sure you’re having fun and feeling comfortable. Many of my clients are self described introverts and I strive to help them become comfortable and confident in front of the camera so that when you look back on your photos it actually feels like you. Joy Shot's true to color, vibrant editing will ensure your photos look timeless and preserve the true colors of your day. All your photos come to you in an online gallery to access anywhere, anytime for 10 years!
My team does all we can to be stress free and take away your stress wherever possible. We celebrate you regardless of size, race, sexuality, gender, or background. If you don't see someone like you on my site, let's talk so I can represent you!

How to Save Time in Your Wedding Day Timeline
It is no secret that planning a wedding can be stressful. The to-do list is a mile long, and you have most likely never planned a wedding before or have the slightest idea how long certain parts of the day usually take. I am sharing my top 5 ways to save time in your wedding day timeline!
1. Have your details photographed ahead of time
Some photographers offer a complimentary “detail day” as a part of their service packages. Having their details photographed in advance not only gives my couples a beautifully styled heirloom but also frees up 30 minutes to an entire hour on your wedding day. The time I would have spent photographing details, I can now spend capturing candid getting ready moments.
2. Do a first look
First looks are not only a great moment to have with just you and your groom, it can be a huge time saver! It means you can usually take couple portraits, bridal party photos, and family formals prior to the ceremony. Meaning, you can relax and enjoy cocktail hour and reception with your guests.
3. Have a family formals list
During my check in questionnaire I have my couples create a list. By including names in every combo, on the wedding day we just read off this list and they are already pre-set groupings. Creating a family formal list ahead of time creates a smooth and efficient timeline, taking the guess-work out of family formals.
4. Go straight into your first dance
After you are announced into the reception, you could go straight into your first dance. If you are nervous about your first dance, this is a great way to get it over with sooner. All the attention is already on you from the grand march and it makes a great transition into the evening.
5. Go straight into cake cutting
Once you are announced into the reception, you could go straight into the cake cutting. This means you won’t get pulled away from dinner (aka, one of the few times you’ll eat today). The guests’ attention is already on you and it is an easy transition from the grand march.
Bonus Tip: Prep the next speaker
I saw a planner do this and was so amazed at how such a small action can save so much time! Prepping each person who is giving a speech ensures a smooth flow between events.
