Cornwall Wedding Photographer

Unposed, Natural, Relaxed Professional Photography

Hey! I'm Steven. I am a Cornwall Wedding Photographer. I have been professionally photographing weddings since 2004 and have captured hundreds of happy couples. Before I was a wedding photographer I was a professional music photographer working worldwide with big acts. My approach to wedding photography is simple: to create a whole story that documents your most important day in the most natural and beautiful way possible. Working on all that the pictures are captured for forever. I will always look to capture your special day naturally and organically, documenting the fun, laughter and happiness as and how it occurs. I cover set up, love, photographs of your big day directing you or your guests. I follow the narrative of the day and capture all of the magical moments.

A Little Bit About Me

I love being a wedding photographer in Cornwall. I've been professionally photographing weddings since 2004 and have captured hundreds of happy couples. Before I was a wedding photographer I was a professional music photographer working worldwide with big acts. Photography has always been a huge passion of mine ever since I was a child.

I grew up in Cornwall but have enjoyed travelling the world as much as possible since my early 20s. Not only do I love photographing weddings in Cornwall, I've never been lucky enough to capture couples special days all over the UK, Europe and the rest of the world.

Creative Tips for Memorable and Fun Bridal Party Pictures

Beyond the formal shots and the classic portraits, there's the lively wedding party waiting to unleash their charisma. Dive into these creative tips for snapping the most fun and memorable wedding party pictures. This article will focus on the tips for the full wedding party, a group that consists of both the bridesmaids and the groomsmen.

Dynamic Posing and Expressive Techniques

Allowing each individual to pose in their unique style captures the essence of their character. These spontaneous poses often result in some of the most memorable and fun pictures from the set. There are various ways to get these photos but a good place to start is to ask them to "freestyle" and strike a different pose each time you count to three. This gives them multiple opportunities to try something unique. You can also give them different themes, such as "silly" or "crazy," and have them do their best interpretation of each theme.

To capture warmth and closeness, try a group hug. A group hug encapsulates warmth, closeness, and the shared joy of the day; it's not just about the couple, it's about everyone celebrating together. This classic celebratory pose, full of energy and glee, is bound to bring out genuine smiles and laughter.

Incorporating Movement and Perspective

Movement adds a sense of life to the gallery. Line them up and get them to leap together! The dynamism and sense of movement in such shots are infectious. Much like the jumping, walking is a great wedding party pose that adds movement and action to the set of photos. Ask the bridal party to walk towards or past the camera; their natural interactions and movements can result in some genuinely candid shots.

Consider changing your physical positioning for more interesting shots:

  • Place Them On Layers: Using stairs or a hillside can give the photos a multi-dimensional feel. Different layers can also help in capturing every face clearly and create a cascading effect.
  • Shoot From Below: An interesting angle, shooting from below makes the party seem larger than life. It's also not a common angle, so it creates a unique and fun perspective.

Often, the most genuine reactions and emotions are caught in those candid moments between the poses. Always be ready to snap the unexpected! While taking photos with your bridal party, tell your photographer to keep shooting to capture candid moments. Tell a fun inside joke to your bridesmaids so you can get a shot of everyone genuinely cracking up.

Bridesmaid Photo Ideas and Activities

The morning of your wedding is a deeply personal time, filled with anticipation and sentiment. The magic of wedding day preparations lies in its spontaneity. Rather than staging every moment, allow the natural flow of emotions to guide your "getting ready" photos. Embrace the laughter, the smiles, and the shared excitement as you prepare for a day filled with love and celebration.

Pre-Wedding Activities for Connection

Spending the wedding morning with your bridesmaids can transform your experience into a joyous and unforgettable one. Consider these activities to foster connection:

  1. Slumber Party: Kick off the festivities with a relaxed slumber party with your bridesmaids the night before.
  2. Personalized Yoga Session: Begin your wedding morning with a calming yoga session to reduce pre-wedding jitters.
  3. Breakfast Feast: Prepare a hearty breakfast spread with all your favorite dishes to nourish and energize.
  4. Spa Morning: Arrange for professional massages or DIY spa stations to leave everyone feeling rejuvenated.

Essential Bridesmaid Shots

If you gifted your bridesmaids with cute matching PJs, get everyone together for a fun photo to show off your morning-of outfits. Have the bride break open a bottle of bubbly amongst her bridesmaids to enjoy that morning while getting ready; the candid moment from the pop always makes for a fun photo. You may have heard of doing a first look with your spouse-to-be, but consider having a bridesmaids first look, too! You won't want to miss those reactions to your dress.

Summary of Creative Posing Ideas

Photo Idea Benefit/Result
Freestyle Posing Captures the essence of individual characters
Group Hug Encapsulates warmth and shared joy
Jumping Shots Adds dynamism and infectious energy
Walking Towards Camera Results in genuinely candid interactions
Low Angle Shot Makes the wedding party seem larger than life

As you're editing the photos, ensure that you're not accidentally tossing out some of the great laughs that happen in between the posed photos. After investing in those florals, you don't want to miss seeing them, so get your bridal party their bouquets to have a beautiful details shot showing off the gorgeous blooms.

Engagement and Couple Photographer Cornwall

As well as being a wedding photographer in Cornwall I am also a professional couple and engagement photoshoots. I love photographing love! In which I do love having photographed couples for the last 15 years in Cornwall and the rest of the world.

Whether you are a new couple or have been married for 50+ years, a professional couple is a wonderful gift. I have photographed couples of many stages of their relationship.

I always make sure the photoshoots are relaxed, unposed, and fun. Not many people enjoy having their photos taken, including me, which is why I make sure that you are both relaxed and happy during the shoot.

Engagement photoshoots are a great way to get used to the camera before your wedding and are offered as part of my wedding photography.
