Creative Floral Details and Architectural Design for Elegant Hotel Weddings
For the design of Tagoui and Alan’s recent Beverly Hills Hotel wedding, we played with creative floral elements in order to add modern details to their chic, classic look. I love the way everything worked together to make the entire reception environment feel special, purposeful and truly elevated. To achieve this, we focused on several key design components.
Unique Floral Artistry and Details
The Composite Wedding Bouquet
Our beautiful bride had always wanted a composite bridal bouquet so that is exactly what she received. Each white rose petal was hand glued to create a chic bouquet we don't see often. I love the effect it gives of an exaggerated, larger-than-life, perfect rose.
Modern, Architectural Floral Centerpieces
To create interest within the classic white, cream and gold wedding color palette, I created table centerpieces with dramatic architectural shapes. On some of the round mirrored tables, I balanced tightly tied bunches of white flowers like roses, tulips and hydrangea in tall glass vases, adding height to the space. On other tables, the repetition of clear glass vases added a geometric detail to the soft, pretty room, creating a tiered effect by placing different height bud vases in a circular shape.
Orchid Installations and Floral Table Skirts
We constructed a fabulous, over-the-top floral arrangement of white orchids tumbling out of the piano to surprise and delight guests as they arrived at the reception. Additionally, the sweetheart table was designed to be simple yet dramatic. We built a table skirt from hundreds of roses that cascaded down the front of the half moon table all the way to the floor. I love the way the flowers look just like fabric; it was gorgeous from every angle and the perfect finishing touch to this classic, timeless wedding.
Grand Venues and Aesthetic Backdrops
Sophisticated wedding venues offer a glamorous backdrop for your big day, from elegant foyers to grand ballrooms with sweeping city views. For instance, the 7th floor Grand Ballroom has an iconic elliptical shape centered around a 6-ton Baccarat crystal chandelier. The walls are trimmed in hand-painted frescos, and the unique balcony overlooking the main floor allows for the perfect grand entrance. Featuring ornate French design, these spaces provide an ideal location for a lavish wedding with 22-foot ceilings, intricate hand-painted beams, and ornate wood carvings.
