Their Queen Sky Room has floor-to-ceiling windows that give the dreamiest views of the city while still feeling calm and serene. For those capturing the golden hour, we had rooftop drinks at sunset with the Empire State Building right in front of us.
Architectural Styles and Interior Design
The city's architecture varies from historic beaux arts landmarks to modern experimental spaces. Revel in the rhythm of W Union Square, located in the 1911 beaux arts-style Guardian Life building—with 270 guest rooms and suites, this is a contemporary spot to see and be seen. With glamorous shopping, electric music venues, and a dynamic art culture, here, the City is at your fingertips.
In Williamsburg, the aesthetic takes a unique turn at K’Far. The Williamsburg spot looks like something between a fancy co-working space and a restaurant in Palm Springs. There’s a dining room done in shades of coral and brown, surrounded by a makeshift jungle of fake plants and attached to a leafy outdoor courtyard that could easily belong to a bungalow at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
Innovative Integration of Technology
Photography often captures how modern technology blends into historic or experimental environments. Moxy Times Square is the NY flagship of Marriott's new, experimental global brand and its edgier hotel alternative complete with 4 eateries, the largest all-season rooftop lounge in NYC and mini golf course. Anthem Productions was asked to design the audio systems for all main common areas, ensuring the systems sounded amazing at low levels with the ability to play very loud. Most of all, the owners loved the way the speakers blended into the environment.
Technical Breakdown of Venue Installations
To achieve this visual and auditory balance, specific hardware was chosen for each unique space:
- Legasea Restaurant & Bar: 14 Python-KP52 line arrays, 8 Tornado-KT2C point sources, 6 Thunder-KMT12P subwoofers and 5 Kommander-KA84 amplifiers.
- Rooftop Magic Hour Bar & Lounge: 30 Python-KP52 line arrays, 20 Thunder-KMT12P subwoofers, and 5 Kommander-KA84 amplifiers.
- Three-floor Atrium and Lobby: 15 Python-KP52 line arrays, 6 Thunder-KMT12P subwoofers, and 3 Kommander-KA24 amplifiers.
When the system was fired up, it was flawless! The sound was articulate and powerful with a graceful quality and each area performed with amazing coverage. For those seeking the ultimate skyline shot, Laser Wolf is an Israeli grill in Williamsburg that has spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline.
