Cornwall Wedding Photographer

Unposed, Natural, Relaxed Professional Photography

Hey! I'm Steven. I am a Cornwall Wedding Photographer. I have been professionally photographing weddings since 2004 and have captured hundreds of happy couples. Before I was a wedding photographer I was a professional music photographer working worldwide with big acts. My approach to wedding photography is simple: to create a whole story that documents your most important day in the most natural and beautiful way possible. Working on all that the pictures are captured for forever. I will always look to capture your special day naturally and organically, documenting the fun, laughter and happiness as and how it occurs. I cover set up, love, photographs of your big day directing you or your guests. I follow the narrative of the day and capture all of the magical moments.

I love being a wedding photographer in Cornwall. I've been professionally photographing weddings since 2004 and have captured hundreds of happy couples. Before I was a wedding photographer I was a professional music photographer working worldwide with big acts. Photography has always been a huge passion of mine ever since I was a child.

I grew up in Cornwall but have enjoyed travelling the world as much as possible since my early 20s. Not only do I love photographing weddings in Cornwall, I've never been lucky enough to capture couples special days all over the UK, Europe and the rest of the world.

2025’s Top Trends in Wedding Photo, Film, and Video

As we enter the vibrant wedding season of 2025, couples are embracing an authentic, heartfelt approach to capturing their special day. This year, a shift from conventional wedding photography and videography has emerged as couples seek to create lasting memories through genuine experiences. Let's dive into the most captivating trends dominating the wedding photo, film, and video landscape in 2025.

The Rise of Documentary and Candid Photography

Candid Wedding Photographs have become increasingly popular as they capture the genuine emotions and interactions of the wedding day. More couples wanting to experience their wedding day rather than take traditional photos, Documentary Wedding Photography is in high demand. This approach emphasizes storytelling and allows couples to break free from wedding traditions, crafting a unique celebration that reflects their personalities.

Couples are choosing to spend less time on posed photos and more time cherishing moments with their guests. As couples prioritize authenticity, many are forgoing engagement photo sessions to avoid the often-uncomfortable process of posing for a camera. Instead, they focus on capturing genuine moments and emotions on their wedding day, resulting in a more honest representation of their love story.

Nostalgia and Retro-Inspired Visuals

The Film Camera Revival adds nostalgia to modern celebrations, offering couples a tangible connection to their memories by bringing warmth and depth to their images. In the realm of video, wedding videographers use Super 8 film and filters on wedding videos, creating evocative, retro-inspired visuals that clients adore. Super Eight wedding videos seamlessly blend the charm of yesteryear with contemporary storytelling techniques.

To capture guest perspectives, couples provide disposable cameras for wedding guests, allowing them to capture candid, unscripted moments throughout the celebration. This trend encourages guests to contribute to the couple's visual narrative in a fun, interactive way.

Modern and Editorial Wedding Photography Style

Editorial photography is all about conveying a story. It is driven by emotion and energy, light, and the surrounding environment. The modern aspect of this is a draw to contrast - light and shadow, angles and juxtapositions, cold and warm, night and day. It is a delicate blend of old and new romance and minimalism versus maximalism and knowing how to balance this recipe.

  • Champagne Tower: An absolute classic and one of the best modern and editorial wedding photos for your album.
  • Blurry Images: Intentional blur photos create a really dramatic effect and can bring a dull image to life.
  • Direct Flash: Photographers use direct flash on the dance floor and for portraits, adding a dynamic, editorial edge to their images.
  • Drone Shots: Aerial drone shots of the ceremony and reception locations are on the rise, adding a dramatic, cinematic quality to the couple's wedding video.

Comprehensive Coverage and Artistic Details

Hiring a photographer who can also film a highlight video of the wedding day is increasingly appealing to couples. Beyond the big moments, the details play part in your story and what you have created. This includes capturing sentimental pieces, close-ups of rings, and unique dress features such as pearls and embroidery. Even stationery that has been carefully and beautifully crafted just for your wedding shows off the color scheme and the little details like your wedding menu.

2025 Wedding Media Trend Overview

Trend Description Key Aesthetic
Documentary Style Focus on unposed, candid interactions Authentic & Heartfelt
Film & Super 8 Use of analog cameras and retro filters Nostalgic & Timeless
Editorial Flair Driven by energy, light, and contrast Modern & Dynamic
Hybrid Coverage Photographers providing both photo and film Comprehensive & Versatile
Guest Perspectives Disposable cameras for attendees Fun & Interactive

Enhancing the Visual Narrative

Brides enhance photo booths by adding drapes and personalized decor, creating a photo set vibe. This trend encourages guests to immerse themselves in the couple's wedding theme and capture memorable snapshots. Additionally, well-kept gardens make for a gorgeous spot to take some portraits, as well as candid shots of your family and friends mingling. Large and tall windows are also a good place to take portrait shots because of the amount of natural light that shines through into the venue, creating dramatic shadows which look stunning in the photos.

Engagement and Couple Photographer Cornwall

As well as being a wedding photographer in Cornwall I am also a professional couple and engagement photoshoots. I love photographing love! In which I do love having photographed couples for the last 15 years in Cornwall and the rest of the world.

Whether you are a new couple or have been married for 50+ years, a professional couple is a wonderful gift. I have photographed couples of many stages of their relationship.

I always make sure the photoshoots are relaxed, unposed, and fun. Not many people enjoy having their photos taken, including me, which is why I make sure that you are both relaxed and happy during the shoot.

Engagement photoshoots are a great way to get used to the camera before your wedding and are offered as part of my wedding photography.
