Country Club Weddings: Timeless Elegance and Southern Charm
Fields and Charles’ wedding day epitomized Southern elegance: timeless, joyful, and full of details shared with the people who know and love them best. John Cain Photography in Dallas, TX, documents these celebrations where family and friends come together for unforgettable moments.
The Wedding of Rachel Bohannon and Rhett Horne
For Rachel and Rhett, nothing mattered more than having all of their blended family and friends in the same room. Rachel and Rhett met their freshman year of college as friends, until love sparked during their junior year of college. Fast forward to 2024, and their wedding was hosted at Dallas Country Club, with the reception in the newly renovated ballroom. Its shades of blue and white aligned perfectly with Rachel’s vision. In fact, the space was the only venue they looked at. “I always love the look of blue and white,” she explains. “And I wanted our wedding to be timeless and elegant.”
Wedding Planning and Special Traditions
She and her wedding planner, Kristin Butler, used these words throughout the wedding planning process to guide the execution of Rachel and Rhett’s beautiful day. Kristin, her wedding planner, offered them a priceless suggestion — to share dinner privately with their parents, step-parents and siblings before the reception. Rachel says it was incredibly special: “It was our first meal as a full family.”
The couple incorporated many sentimental traditions into their day. The couple’s “something old” was their getaway car, a 1957 Ford Skyliner. Her “something new” was her wedding day scent. “Something borrowed” was the family heirloom pearl earrings she wore. And the “something blue” was the blue jewel adorning her heels. The couple also had a memory table to honor the people they wish could’ve been there on the wedding day.
The Art of Photography at Your Wedding
Rachel’s favorite photo from the wedding is one of them right after the cake-cutting, clinking champagne glasses while guests enjoy themselves in the background. “It was our wedding day, but I love how many photos [John Cain Photography] was able to capture of our wedding guests, as well,” she says. She appreciated all the photos of guests having fun, dancing, and chatting with one another, in addition to those of her and Rhett. “I look back through the pictures almost every day and I find a new favorite or a new picture I didn’t even know existed,” Rachel gushes. Per Rhett’s request, the couple hosted an after party, complete with a DJ. The bubbles were a total surprise to her, but made for iconic photos to end the evening!
