Wedding and Engagement Photography at The Stone House of St. Charles
Michaela and Sheldon are the most wonderful couple. They are so in love with each other, and I loved capturing how they lovingly gazed at each other during their engagement session, and now during their wedding day at the Stone House of St. Charles in June. Like with many love stories, they started as friends when they met at Mizzou years ago. They saw each other every day and spent many hours speaking together in the dining hall, and soon close friendship turned into romance. I loved getting to capturing their love story!
A Beautiful Wedding Day in St. Charles
I loved so many moments from this wedding day. The joy and pure joy on Sheldon’s face during their first look. The beautiful blue color scheme that Michaela chose for their wedding invitations. The elegance of the bridesmaids dresses. The reception decor was just so pretty. Classic and beautiful for this most amazing wedding day! We were able to sneak away during their reception – which was both inside and outside. People danced the night away, and others hung out on the outdoor area drinking and talking to their friends while munching on delicious food. It was a laidback and just absolutely fun wedding day!

Venue Review: Photography Potential at The Stone House
It’s a gorgeous venue with fantastic potential no matter the weather! It’s important that a venue be able to “work” at any point in the itinerary, during any season, and at any time during the day. During the getting ready time, you’re met with huge, soft window light and simply decorated rooms so as to not distract from the humans in the photos. The courtyard is spacious enough for family photos and totally well-lit, and the reception hall is more than equipped for anything you can throw at it. Stone House of St. Charles Wedding Photography for Alysa and Kyle was also a fun one, and I think it’s super apparent in the sum total amount of smiles that permeated every part of the day.
Engagement Photography in Downtown St. Charles
I was so excited to meet Libby and Ryan and photograph their downtown St. Charles, MO engagement session last winter. It was a freezing cold day – our fingers were chilled to the bone – but these two have an infectious smile and such a warm, loving attitude that made the engagement session so special and wonderful to photograph! We strolled Main Street in the historic St. Charles after all the shops had closed on Sunday. It was pretty empty, but it made for the perfect and romantic photographs. I also love shooting in the winter months, because it’s always overcast and there’s something so unique about it!
